The Bella Coola Valley
Bella Coola is situated at the head of a long narrow ocean fjord that winds its way inland towards some of the highest glacial mountain’s in the coast range.
Our land based Bella Coola Wilderness Adventures is ideally located just minutes from the airport on Highway 20 and is accessible by BC Ferries as well. We offer natural wildlife viewing tours and hiking adventures throughout the Bella Coola Valley and beyond.

Dont Forget
The Camera
Cameras and video recorders are a good thing to bring for the many photo opportunities. Your might just capture the photo of a lifetime. Telephoto lenses are great for Wildlife photography and will improve the quality of your photos.
Good quality binoculars/optics are essential to have along as well to get a closer look at the wildlife from a distance.
Suitable Gear To Bring
Suitable footwear for the area can be hiking boots or some kind of walking shoes for most activities. Footwear with ankle support is great as you may be walking on uneven ground, rocks and slippery surfaces.
Daypacks are handy to keep your personal gear in when on the local trails. Sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended on the Marine Tours as you can get easily sunburnt from the reflection on the water. Don’t forget your bathing suit and towel for the Hotsprings. When hiking our local trails without a guide we strongly recommend carrying Bear spray which can be purchased in the Valley at a number of retailers.

Local
Weather
The Weather on the West Coast is generally quite good in the Spring, Summer and Fall with lots of beautiful Sunny days to enjoy. We do have our share of rainy and cloudy days as well and guests should be equipped with rain gear and warm clothes in case of wet weather. The mornings and evenings can be cool when the sun is behind the mountain. Guests should bring layered clothing that can be removed as it warms up in the afternoon.
